Visiting the Stylist and TrichotillomaniaEvery hairpuller knows that a visit to a stylist is one of the events that is most challenging. Whether or not you are directly confronted with questions about your lack of eyebrows, eyelashes or bald spots, most sit through the experience frozen and terrified, ready to run out the door at a moment's notice. I know that I felt this way. If the stylist said anything to me about my bald patches, I'd lie like crazy or never return. Do you react this way also? There is no need for you to feel so uncomfortable anymore. I've written a note that you can copy to give to your hairdresser when you arrive at the appointment or that you can drop-off a day or two before your visit. Or if you'd rather speak directly to your stylist, this wording of my "template" may give you some ideas about how you might want to phrase things. There is another link at the end of the template to print out an article to further inform your stylist about Trichotillomania and how to best interact with clients who are dealing with compulsive hairpulling To access it, just click on this link: A Confidential Note to My Stylist I hope that you will find this to be a useful tool!
